Our story began in 2002 with a deep love for these gentle and loyal breeds. Over the years, that love has grown into a dedicated breeding program built on hands-on care, experience, and heart. Every puppy and kitten is raised as part of our extended family, receiving the personal attention they deserve from day one.

Our Approach

At Heartfelt Danes, our Great Danes, Italian Greyhounds, and Maine Coons are raised indoors — right by our side as cherished members of our family.

We are committed to providing a loving, intimate home environment where our animals can thrive emotionally, socially, and physically. With a deep passion for these loyal and affectionate breeds, we focus on hands-on care, early socialization, and daily interaction to help each puppy and kitten grow into a confident, well-adjusted companion.

The Great Dane Persona

The Great Dane is renowned for its unwavering loyalty and affectionate nature. Often referred to as a “gentle giant,” this majestic breed combines impressive size with a calm, loving temperament.

Despite their grand stature, Great Danes are famously relaxed and enjoy lounging comfortably beside their families. However, they also have a playful and endearing side, often following their owners from room to room — sometimes even to the bathroom — simply to stay close.

Their deep devotion to human companionship and strong desire to please make them exceptional family dogs. With proper training and socialization, Great Danes grow into loyal, gentle, and deeply bonded companions!

The Italian Greyhound Persona

The Italian Greyhound (IG) is renowned for its elegance, slender and delicate build, and impressive speed — capable of reaching up to 25 mph. Graceful yet playful, IGs are deeply affectionate and thrive on close companionship, earning them the nickname “Velcro Dog.”

Italian Greyhounds form strong bonds with their families and adore snuggling under blankets or curling up beside their favorite person. Due to their short coat and low body fat, they are sensitive to cold weather and often require sweaters or jackets in cooler climates.

While generally quiet, gentle, and wonderful with families, IGs can be reserved or cautious around strangers. They also possess a high prey drive, making a securely fenced area essential when off leash. Because of their fine bone structure, gentle handling and supervised play are important to help prevent injury.

With proper care, training, and socialization, Italian Greyhounds make devoted, loving, and elegant companions!

The Maine Coon Persona

The Maine Coon is affectionately known as the “Gentle Giant” of the cat world. As one of the largest domesticated cat breeds, they are admired for their impressive size, rugged muscular build, tufted ears, raccoon-like tail, and long, shaggy, water-resistant coat.

Beyond their striking appearance, Maine Coons are renowned for their exceptional temperament. Highly intelligent, sociable, and easy-going, they are often described as having dog-like personalities. They form strong bonds with their families, frequently following their owners from room to room and actively participating in daily life.

Maine Coons are known for their unique chirping and trilling vocalizations rather than traditional meows. Many enjoy walking on a harness and leash, playing fetch, and even splashing in water. Their affectionate nature and playful spirit make them outstanding companions for families, couples, and individuals alike!
